SRI DURGA TEMPLE, DURGAKUND

Durga temple is  also known as the The Monkey Temple as one of the important temples of Varanasi. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. The Durga temple was built in the eighteenth century. A Bengali Maharani built the Durga temple in Nagara Style (the North Indian style of temple architecture). It is stained red with ochre and has a multitiered shikhar (spire).

KAL BHAIRAVA TEMPLE

To go towards Kaalbhairav temple, one has to come out of kashi Vishwanath lane at Chowk Godowlia road and then via cycle rickshaw or auto rickshaw can go towards Kaalbhairava Temple which is 1 KM away . It is said that unless you visit Kaalbhairav Temple , Kashi Yatra is incomplete.In Kashi Vishwanath legend, when Lord Shiva gets angry on Lord Brahma , he creates a dangerous form called Kaalbhairava .

SANKAT MOCHAN TEMPLE

Sankat Mochan temple is one of the important and angelic temples of Varanasi amid in the southern allotment of the city. It is committed to Shri Pawanputra Lord Hanuman. Tulsidas, the columnist of the acclaimed Hindu ballsy Ramacharitamanas, founded the Sankat Mochan temple at the sight where he got the vision of Lord hanuman during his life. .

MATA ANNAPOORNA DEVI TEMPLE

Annapoorna Mata is the Goddess of nourishment. Anna means food and grains. Purna means full, complete and perfect. She is actually Devi  Parvati, the consort of Shiva. 

Once Goddess  Parvati was told by her Husband Lord  Shiva that the world is an illusion and that food is a part of this illusion called maya.

NEPALI TEMPLE

The King of Nepal had built this temple on Lalita ghat on Ganga river at Varanasi in Nepali style. This Nepali temple is also called the Kathwala temple. The temple has some magnificent and articulate woodwork. Tourists from all over the world come just to see this temple which has no comparison with any other temple in India because of its magnificence  The workers and sculptures who carved this temple out were brought from Nepal.

TULSI MANAS TEMPLE

Tulsi Manas temple is one of the most famous temples of Varanasi. The Tulsi Manas temple is located near the famous Durga temple. It was built in white marble in the year 1964. The temple has been made more charming by the magnificent landscaping around it. The Tulsi Manas temple is dedicated to Lord Ram. It is believed to be built at the same place where Tulsidas wrote the famous Indian epic, Ramcharitamanas.

GAURI KEDARSEHWARA TEMPLE

There was a devotee named Vashishta who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. He remained Brahmachari all his life and used to perform each and every linga pooja. He used to go to Kedareshwar temple in Himalayas every poornima of Chaitra month ( March April ).

NEW VISHWANATH TEMPLE (BIRLA TEMPLE), BHU

The new Vishwanath Temple or the Birla Temple is among the main attractions in the Varanasi city. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located inside the Banaras Hindu University, another landmark in the city. Possessing the tallest temple tower in the world, this temple has a grand view even from a distance.

VISHALAKSHI TEMPLE

According to mythology Lord Brahma performed a yagna to please Shiva and Devi Adi Shakti. Goddess Shakti arose separately from Shiva and helped Brahma for creating the universe. After completing the work Brahma decided to reunite Shiva and Sakti.
